Wow! It’s 2022!
I hope the new year has been off to a good start for all of you! As you know from last month, I’ve been doing what’s needed to truly take care of myself and my health.
At the moment, that means finding ways to explore my career in music and burlesque that don’t solely involve a stage! The pandemic still lingers on, and the most positive way to proceed as an artist is to create diverse methods of expression that are parallel to my career that can also hopefully bring my income back to life! I know there will be times I can perform, and times I need to go back in and wait again.
In this month’s “Goodnight Gazette” I’m taking you behind the scenes of the various endeavors and skills I’ve acquired due to this artistic shift & pivot!
A behind the scenes view of how we are transforming our home into various creative spaces!

CHECK OUT THE VIDEO I MADE!:
Before this I had never really used Final Cut Pro or had known how to make videos like this.
But it’s been so rewarding to learn this skill so I can adjust to more virtual work + I can reach audiences around the world!
Ordinarily our ticket holders are the only ones who get to see our virtual show creations, but I wanted you to get to see the intro I made - ticket or no ticket!
I did my research
After watching MTV’s first two hours ever on television, I knew that’s what I wanted to base our introduction on! It’s not exactly the same, as I wanted to bring it into 2022.
2. I created the song
First I took a sample of “Money for Nothing” by Dire Straights, then remixed it with samples I found on a program called “Splice.” I used the samples to create the song you hear in the video.
3. I created the video
Then I pieced together the video using video from NASA and some stock footage and played with filters and transitions using a program called Final Cut Pro.
4. I created the JTV Logo
Who knew creating a 3D J would be so difficult? So I created the logo using Photoshop and Canva, because the “look” of vintage MTV just wouldn’t be there without it!
A Sneak Peek at an Unreleased Song
It’s another song I recorded with my dear friend, Fred de Fred! It’s never been heard before, so, enjoy!
